Don’t Give Up

Happiest of Fridays to you! The reason I decided to choose the famous quote by Jimmy Valvano to scribble on a wall is because I personally needed this reminder in my life: Don’t Give Up.

I try not to post too many personal things on here because this isn’t my 7th grade Livejournal, but as of late a lot of worries have plagued me concerning my own direction in life.

I won’t bore you with further details but what I know is that in the end, it’s up to me to pursue what I want to and “if I’m not having fun, it’s my own damn fault” (quote thanks to Kathi Moser). I’m so lucky to be in my situation as a college-educated healthy American with loving family and friends and I really don’t have anything to complain about. There isn’t a need to worry, there just needs to be a desire to not give up on my goals while continuing to be grateful and enjoy each day.

We  have all faced this struggle of continuing to persevere whether it be in our jobs, in our dreams, in our relationships, or in daily life struggles. But starting today, let’s take a step back and realize how fortunate we are to be free, to be healthy, and to have a support group. We are lucky; we are blessed. No need to complain, just keep striving to ENJOY every day, to help those in need, and to follow your heart.

So don’t give up! PLEASE don’t give up on your dreams. If you’re not working in your dream job, make time after work to take steps towards your dream. If you want to be a chef, take night cooking classes. If you want to travel, start saving up and consciously believe you’re going to do it. Whatever it is, work hard but enjoy the process. Live your life vibrantly and positively and gratefully. “Laugh, Think, and Cry every day” as Jimmy would say. And don’t you dare give up on it.
