1. the action of conserving something, in particular.
    • preservation, protection, or restoration of the natural environment, natural ecosystems, vegetation, and wildlife.
    • preservation, repair, and prevention of deterioration of archaeological, historical, and cultural sites and artifacts.

I started this blog 3 years ago with the intention of promoting kindness and forgiving connections with people. While that is still an important goal, I am back and want to shift my focus on something that really inspires me: The natural world and preserving it for future beings. My new goal is to challenge myself and others to incorporate small acts of conservation in our lives an provide resources to those looking to get involved in preserving and restoring Mother Earth.

This site is meant to be a resource for people looking to contribute in conservation, as well as an review site on the different acts out there to conserve.

A 100 Act Challenge of Connecting People and Promoting Kindness

My  goal is simple: To complete 100 small acts that forge a connection, promote kindness, and/or give back to our community.

Hiatus Time! – please see Personal tab 🙂

My original goal was to complete 100 acts by September 1st 2014. This would push me to complete an act a day give or take. However, I am taking a hiatus on my project in order to transition back into balancing a full time job and while pursuing other personal projects. Please see my “Personal” tab on what I’m up to currently! Posts that are associated with personal projects will be posted sporadically.

Revised goal: To complete this project by the middle of 2015. I’ve learned the challenge of keeping to a strict timeline and have found that it is more enjoyable when inspiration for an act comes naturally rather than being contrived in order to meet deadlines. This is my personal project after all, not work.

There is always an opportunity for small acts of kindness daily even if no one writes about it. Petting puppies, letting drivers in on the highway, paying for a stranger’s coffee , etc. are all examples we can complete every day.

Why initiate a challenge?

By engaging in this challenge I’ll have to be present every day to consciously make choices in helping others or making people smile. These acts will hopefully help chip away at the barriers we put up to separate ourselves from each other.

I hope to educate myself on nonprofit organizations in Seattle while exploring ways to stay connected to the community. I hope this blog also serves as inspiration for readers to connect above and beyond the world of social media. I hope to make real connections with people I meet along the way.

Overall, I want us to make the connection that we’re all in this world together.

Thank you for your support; I love you!
